Undue Influence is a stealth and exploration game. Take on the role of Alexis Montgomery, a newlywed turned widow, and eliminate your in-laws so that you are the sole inheritor of your late husband's wealth.

My Role

For Undue Influence, I worked as the team's narrative designer, and writer. My responsibilities included creating the plot, character creation, giving characters flaws to be exploited, and writing dialogue.

Family Meetings

After successfully carrying out an elimination method, the game would progress to the Family Meeting phase. During this phase, players would interact with the remaining family members and could gain or lose their trust through different dialogue options. In order to deal with a nonlinear story, Family Meetings were going to be lead by the Head Butler who the remaining family members would respond to. That way, we could write a line of dialogue for each of the family members, and the game would skip over their line if they had previously been eliminated similar to how the Fire Emblem series handle dialogue when troops are permanently lost.
